Businesses and organisations across North Northamptonshire are invited to play a key role in shaping the area’s future by becoming partners of the North Northamptonshire Big 50 initiative.
The Big 50 brings together residents, businesses, schools, community groups and public sector organisations to help reimagine what North Northamptonshire could look like in 2050. The initiative is developing a range of projects and activities designed to leave a lasting legacy for future generations.
As part of the ambitious programme, sponsorship opportunities are now available for two exciting projects taking place this autumn:
Sponsor the North Northamptonshire Book Festival
Plans are progressing for a major new book festival. The festival will launch on 19 October 2026 and lead into Northamptonshire Day celebrations.
The book festival will bring together schools, students, families, businesses and the wider community to celebrate reading, creativity, learning and opportunity. A programme featuring renowned authors, poets, journalists, illustrators, historians and thought leaders is being developed, with activities to include:
- Author readings and book signings
- Talks and panel discussions
- Writing and storytelling workshops
- School and community outreach activities
- Careers sessions focused on publishing, journalism and the creative industries
- Events designed to inspire learners of all ages
The aim is to create one of the region’s most significant cultural events during the Big 50 celebrations, reaching thousands of people and inspiring a lifelong love of learning and creativity.

Support a Lasting Legacy Through Tree Planting and Time Capsules
Alongside the book festival, schools across North Northamptonshire will receive trees this autumn thanks to a generous donation from Kier Construction.
Pupils will plant and nurture their trees as symbols of growth and optimism for the future, helping spark discussions about what North Northamptonshire might look like in 2050 and beyond.
To enhance the project, businesses are being invited to sponsor time capsules that can be buried alongside the trees and opened in 2050, giving future generations a fascinating insight into life today.
Each time capsule costs £55, and organisations are encouraged to sponsor them in batches of 10 or 20. To discuss sponsoring time capsules please email BIG 50.
