As part of North Northamptonshire Council’s ongoing community tree planting programme, we are on track to plant another 5000 trees this year throughout North Northamptonshire.

Tree planting will be taking place in Council owned greenspaces, within Country Parks and Woodlands, on school grounds and on Parish Council owned land. Trees will be planted by volunteers and the Council will be working with eco groups, schools, youth groups and corporate groups throughout North Northamptonshire. The trees have been sourced from the Council’s own tree bank and they have also been supported by the Woodland Trust and Carbon Footprint who have provided free tree packs.

BIG50 is supporting this programme and extending the reach by working with partner organisations such as Greatwell Homes and Tresham College. We will soon be reaching out to local schools to join our tree planting pledge, but in the meantime if you are a school or community group that would like to find out more please get in touch with us via the Get Involved page.
