The Northamptonshire County Association of Local Councils (NCALC) Pledge focuses on creating a proud, proactive, and prosperous community.
Proud Place: Celebrates heritage and culture by preserving landmarks, encouraging councils to organise community events, promoting pride in the civic heritage of North Northamptonshire and encouraging local storytelling.
Proactive Place: Addresses community challenges through sustainable solutions and provides platforms for community input.
Prosperous Place: Promotes inclusive growth by training local councillors and clerks, fostering partnerships, and advocating for equitable access to resources.
Together, these efforts aim to build a vibrant and thriving North Northants for all residents. Northants CALC will work with all parish and town councils and parish meetings to promote the BIG50 and to encourage those local councils and parish meetings to be an involved partner.
The BIG50 Parish Steering Group will spearhead the effort and provide guidance to local councils to participate.
Chamber supports Prosperous Place to commit to running a seminar alongside our Northamptonshire Business Expo in March 2026 at Wicksteed Park recognising inclusive growth.
We will link this into our International Women’s Day event that takes place on the day and align with our LSIP (Local Sills Improvement Plan).
Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) growth and support/skills development by fuelling innovation support, access to funded support, supporting Digital Northamptonshire, access to new talent through student placement/projects, Careers Expo held annually and many more.Developing Research Skills in North & West Local Authorities.
UON is engaging with a wide array of initiatives that support many of the BIG 50 priorities such as:
Evaluating the Northamptonshire Serious Violence Prevention Partnership and increasing the adoption of nutrition education in the Holiday Activities & Food Programme (HAF).
These initiatives and projects all align to creating a Proud, Proactive and Prosperous place in Northamptonshire.
